Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I learn more about the BioSense Watch's capabilities?

Where can I learn more about the BioSense Band's capabilities?

You can learn more about the BioSense Band's capabilities here: https://vyvo.com/band

Following patient discharge, how is device rental and monitoring handled?

Normally, following patient discharge, while the patient and their families often elect to maintain the device rental and family monitoring aspects of the device, agency monitoring normally ends with discharge. Should the patient re-engage the services of the agency, agency monitoring can easily be added back to the device.

How do I position ongoing anomaly monitoring with patients?

It is important to underscore the anomaly alerts that are conveyed by the BioSense Watch or the BioSense band are really for informational purposes only and will not prompt response from you as a provider. Linked family members will also receive these anomaly alerts and may elect to react to them depending on the severity and frequency of the alerts. The AI overlay is monitoring the information 24/7 and determining what anomalies for which alerts are triggered. Patients experiencing distress should be contacting emergency services as they would normally.

Is the AI overlay a required service with the devices?

While the AI overlay isn't required, interpretation of the data to trigger alerts based on anomalies is an important part of the approach. After all, without the AI overlay, data is just data.

Can I conduct a test with a group of patients to see how our patients and their families view the service offering?

Absolutely! You can start by securing a limited number of devices initially to gauge how the program is received by your patients and their families and expand the offering as you see success.

If I prefer to have patients purchase devices directly rather than participate in the rental program, can we handle this in that way?

Patients can certainly purchase the devices directly if you would prefer not to generate revenue from the optional rental program as outlined on this site.

How do we handle device battery charging?

For the devices to be active, the batteries must be charged regularly. The BioSense Band requires charging every three to four days. The BioSense Watch requires charging every day or two. While the devices to charge quickly, a good practice is to set a time each day or so, during normal check ins, to place the device on the charger. It's also a great time to ensure the data is syncing properly to the smartphone of the patient or loved one.

Must I have a smartphone to link the device?

Yes. The device uses Bluetooth to link to a smartphone. The android or iOS app on the device syncs the data. The integrated Guardian technology provides linked individuals with alerts to anomalies in data or in the event of a fall incident.
